Resul Pookutty appointed as the Kerala Chalachitra Academy Chairman

Thiruvananthapuram: Oscar- winning sound designer Resul Pookutty has been appointed as the new chairman of the Kerala State Chalachitra Academy (KSCA), the state’s apex body for cinema.
The appointment was announced through a government order issued by the Department of Cultural Affairs, which also named 26 office-bearers and members to the new committee.
As per the order, Pookutty will serve as chairperson, while actress Kuku Parameswaran has been named vice-chairperson. Parameswaran, who also serves as the general secretary of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA).
C Ajoy will continue as the Academy’s secretary. The general council includes Santhosh Keezhattoor, Sithara Krishnakumar, Minhaj Meder, S Sohanlal , G S Vijayan, Shyam Pushkaran, Amal Neerad, Nikhila Vimal, B Rakesh, Sudheer Karamana, Reji M Damodaran, Saju Navodaya, N Arun, Poojappura Radhakrishnan, and U Sreeganesh.
Ex-officio members comprise the KSCA treasurer, secretaries of the Cultural Affairs and Finance departments, and directors of Cultural Affairs, Information & Public Relations, C-DIT, and Doordarshan.
The executive board includes Pookutty, Parameswaran, the KSCA secretary and treasurer, along with Sohanlal and Keezhattoor.
The newly formed committee will serve a three- year term, the order stated.
