SIT Conducts Raids at Five Locations, Including Reporter TV Office

Kochi: A Special Investigation Team (SIT) is conducting searches at five locations across Keralam, including the headquarters of Reporter TV. The searches are also being carried out at the residences of the Augustine brothers.

The SIT team arrived at the Reporter TV office around 5 am. Reporter TV alleged that the officials seized the phones of journalists at the office and disrupted the functioning of the news desk.

CPI(M) state secretary M V Govindan said the Narendra Modi government at the Centre, along with the V D Satheesan-led government in Keralam, was challenging civil liberties.

“An attack on newspaper establishments and media organisations is an extremely rare occurrence. Keralam will oppose such non-transparent actions,” Govindan said.

He added that there was a need to strongly protest against such attacks when they were carried out improperly.
