Pathanamthitta: The bail application of Congress MLA Rahul Mamkoottathil, who is currently in judicial custody in connection with a third rape case, will be considered by the Pathanamthitta Sessions Court on Thursday. The court will hear arguments on the plea only after receiving the police report. Rahul was remanded to custody on the 11th in a case in which he is accused of raping a woman from Kottayam after allegedly luring her to a hotel in Thiruvalla. Earlier, the Thiruvalla Judicial First Class Magistrate Court had dismissed his bail application, following which he approached the Sessions Court. Meanwhile, another survivor has come forward with serious allegations. In an affidavit submitted to the High Court, the complainant stated that Rahul is a brutal sexual offender who assaulted her in an extremely violent manner even while she was pregnant. The woman who made these disclosures is the survivor in the first case registered against him. The survivor appeared before the court to oppose Rahul’s anticipatory bail plea. She alleged that Rahul had threatened her and recorded nude videos of her, which are still in his possession. She expressed fear that the visuals could be made public if he is granted bail. In her submission, the complainant also described Rahul Mamkoottathil as a sadist with severe psychological abnormalities.
