Thiruvananthapuram: R Bindu, Kerala’s Higher Education Minister, strongly condemned the attack on Health Minister Veena George by KSU members, describing it as an act reminiscent of the “ghost of the Liberation Struggle.”
Reacting to the incident at the Kannur railway station, where Veena George was injured, she said the attackers had displayed “misogynistic male chauvinism” by targeting a female minister. She warned that those responsible would have to face serious consequences for their actions.
R Bindu stated that Kerala would not tolerate attempts to revive outdated methods of political confrontation. “This is not the past where coups could succeed, but a democratic Kerala,” she said, adding that the state would deliver a fitting response to attempts to repeat old political strategies through violence.
