UDF Government Supporting Centre’s ‘Fascist Policies’: Pinarayi Vijayan

Thiruvananthapuram: The UDF government in Keralam is extending full support to the Centre’s “fascist policy approach,” including in the higher education sector, Opposition Leader Pinarayi Vijayan said.

He was inaugurating the diamond jubilee conference of the Kerala University Employees’ Union at V S Achuthanandan Nagar, A K G Hall.

Pinarayi alleged that members of the Sangh Parivar were being appointed to teaching positions in institutions of national importance without giving due consideration to qualifications.

“In Keralam, Sangh Parivar members are being appointed as Vice-Chancellors without the knowledge of the government. The state is witnessing a situation in which Vice-Chancellors, who are expected to uphold and protect secular values, travel in official vehicles to attend RSS programmes,” he said.

He also alleged that the UDF government had aligned itself with BJP-ruled states who registered cases against those who organised protests in solidarity with the student movement in Delhi.
