Thrissur: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Friday strongly condemned Israel's recent airstrikes on Iran, calling the act unjustifiable and a serious threat to global peace.
In a sharp statement, Vijayan said, “From historic times, Israel has behaved like a rogue state, refusing to abide by the standard norms followed by the global community. Backed by the United States, it has pursued a policy of impunity, acting as though it is above international law.”
Referring to the latest developments, the Chief Minister expressed grave concern over the situation unfolding in Iran following Israel’s attacks on key nuclear and military sites. “Very disturbing news is coming from Iran. The Israeli aggression cannot be justified under any circumstances,” he said.
Vijayan urged the international community to stand against the assault. “This is not just an attack on a country, but an assault on peace itself. Those who wish to see peace flourish in the world must condemn this act,” he added.
The Chief Minister’s remarks come amid global alarm over the possibility of escalating conflict in the Middle East following the Israeli strikes, which killed senior Iranian military officials and targeted nuclear facilities.
