CM Pinarayi Vijayan Demands Apology from Adoor Prakash for Remarks on Actress Assault Case Appeal

Kannur: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has asked UDF convener Adoor Prakash to apologise for criticizing the government’s decision to file an appeal in the case of the actress who was assaulted. The government analyze the legal side regarding filing an appeal against the trial court’s verdict. This is not because the government has no other work; the convener’s argument on this matter is unusual. The Chief Minister said that he does not understand Adoor Praksh's need to make such a vehement reaction.
He added that from the beginning, the government has stood by the survivor in the assault case, and this stance will continue. Speaking at a public meeting in Kannur, he emphasized that the government has consistently supported the survivor.
The Chief Minister rejected actor Dileep’s allegations that the police had conspired in the case against him. He stated that police action was taken based on the evidence obtained, and Dileep has not submitted any formal complaint against the police. Whatever Dileep claims, he himself must clarify.
The Chief Minister noted that the prosecution handled the case excellently, and at all stages, both the public and legal authorities expressed appreciation for the way the case was conducted. As a government, it is prepared to take a firm stance on such matters, and this case sends a clear message in that regard.
