Kollam: The government only announces measures that it can actually implement, and proof of this is the government order sanctioning the arrears of DA for government employees and DR for pensioners, said Finance Minister K. N. Balagopal. One installment of the arrears (three percent) will be paid in March along with the February salary. Ten percent will be given along with the salary of March in April. Employees will receive an additional amount ranging from Rs 5,000 to Rs 20,000, he said at a press conference in Kottarakara.

The government is not only implementing measures mentioned in the budget but is also moving forward by reserving the necessary funds for them. The situation is not as bad as the opposition leader has claimed, stating that Kerala is in ruins. Despite the campaign suggesting that the treasury is empty, the government is progressing steadily.

Reports from the Comptroller and Auditor General, the Reserve Bank of India, and the 16th Finance Commission have all highlighted that Kerala’s financial situation has improved. The opposition avoided participating in the budget session. Propaganda is being carried out daily to insult Kerala. According to the CAG report, 19 states in India have higher debt than Kerala.

The minister stated that the opposition is not merely trying to insult the LDF but is attempting to undermine Kerala and destroy the confidence of its people.
