V D Satheesan Repeats Lies at Every Press Conference, Says M V Govindan

Kozhikode: CPI(M) State Secretary M V Govindan has alleged that Chief Minister V D Satheesan repeats lies at every press conference and attacks journalists who raise questions.

“V D Satheesan must understand that he is no longer the Leader of the Opposition but the Chief Minister. He must fulfil the responsibilities that come with the office of Chief Minister,” Govindan told reporters in Kozhikode.

He added that the Chief Minister and the state government were standing helplessly in the face of the natural disaster affecting Keralam and that the entire government machinery had failed.

“The government has been unable to respond effectively to the situation or find solutions to the problems faced by the people. Even members of the ruling front have raised these criticisms,” he said.

Govindan alleged that despite clear warnings from weather agencies, the government failed to issue precautionary instructions, make effective preparations or ensure proper coordination. He said even people who had reached relief camps had raised these concerns.

“The government must stand with the people and respond to disasters and crises alongside them. That is not happening here. This was not the situation during the past 10 years,” he said.

Govindan added that CPI(M) workers would actively participate in relief and disaster response efforts across the state.
