Thiruvananthapuram: CPI(M) state secretary M V Govindan has alleged that the Congress is providing full support to the BJP's saffronisation agenda and that Chief Minister V D Satheesan is governing Keralam the way the RSS would.

M V Govindan said Satheesan has become a Chief Minister who acts according to RSS directives. He pointed out that the Chief Minister has not said a single word about the Governor directly summoning the state police chief and issuing him instructions — a significant constitutional overreach. He said that during the LDF government's tenure, the Chief Minister had strongly protested against similar attempts by the Governor and had ensured that officials did not comply. The current government, he alleged, is yielding to all such pressures.

He also said the Enforcement Directorate raid is politically motivated and is part of an attempt to create a smokescreen and build an anti-party narrative. He alleged that investigations are being conducted into matters where no factual basis exists, with the aim of creating the impression that there is. He said that what comes as a political attack will be met with a political response.
