CPI(M) State Secretary MV Govindan Calls on Party Workers and Public to Join Rescue Efforts in Thrissur Firecracker Unit Disaster

Thiruvananthapuram: CPI(M) State Secretary M V Govindan has called on party workers and the general public to come forward and assist in rescue operations at the Thrissur firecracker disaster site in Thrissur, working in coordination with government agencies already deployed at the scene.
In a statement, the CPI(M) senior leader said the government had launched effective interventions to coordinate rescue operations at the site, with Police, Fire and Rescue Service, and Health Department resources being mobilised in a unified response under the Chief Minister's direction. He urged volunteers to work in tandem with these official agencies rather than independently.
M V Govindan also offered his condolences to the families and loved ones of those killed in the tragedy, expressing solidarity with all those affected by the devastating incident.
The appeal comes as rescue operations remain severely hampered by continuing fires and secondary explosions at the site, with emergency personnel still unable to fully access the blast area nearly two hours after the initial explosion.
