Mohanlal Mourns S Janaki's Demise, Recalls Her as a 'Sea of Affection'

Thiruvananthapuram: Actor Mohanlal paid an emotional tribute to legendary playback singer S Janaki following her demise, describing her as "India's nightingale" and an artist whose timeless songs touched millions across generations.


In a Facebook post, Mohanlal said Janaki's passing marked the end of an era, recalling her immense contribution to Malayalam, Hindi and several other Indian languages through countless memorable songs.


The actor said he would always remain indebted to S Janaki as she had sung the songs in his debut film Manjil Virinja Pookkal. He noted that her voice had beautifully expressed every human emotion, including joy, sorrow and innocence, making her one of India's most cherished singers.





Mohanlal also recalled that he was fortunate to be part of numerous films featuring songs rendered by her after his debut. Beyond her artistic brilliance, he remembered her as a calm, compassionate person who treated everyone with equal warmth and affection.


Stating that he shared a close personal bond with the singer, Mohanlal offered his prayers for the eternal peace of her soul and extended his heartfelt condolences on her passing.
