Mani Shankar Aiyar’s Remarks Reflect Reality, Congress Is BJP’s B-Team: M.B. Rajesh

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Local Self-Government Minister M.B. Rajesh on Monday endorsed the political remarks made by senior Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar, stating that Aiyar had openly spoken about the ground reality in Kerala politics.

Rajesh said Aiyar’s observation that the Congress in Kerala has effectively become a B-team of the BJP reflects what many people in the state already understand. Speaking to reporters in Thiruvananthapuram, the minister said the Congress lacks the strength to take on the BJP at the national level and is instead trying to weaken the LDF in Kerala through a tacit understanding with the BJP.

He said that when a veteran leader like Mani Shankar Aiyar raises concerns, it shows the depth of internal issues within the Congress. According to Rajesh, even senior leaders are unable to ignore what he described as disorder within the party and its soft approach towards the BJP.

Rajesh also pointed out that Aiyar’s assessment that the government led by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will return to power reflects the prevailing public mood in Kerala. He said the LDF government continues to enjoy people’s support because of its governance record.

The minister further alleged that instead of addressing the concerns raised by their own leader, the Congress has chosen to respond with personal attacks. He said remarks made against Aiyar by leaders such as Pawan Khera only highlight the lack of discipline and internal democracy within the party.
