Thiruvananthapuram: There has been a severe cyberattack against former Union Minister and senior Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar for praising the LDF government for its unparalleled role in Kerala’s development. KPCC spokesperson Linto John also insulted Aiyar. Following this, severe abuse spread through the Congress IT cell on social media.

While participating in the Vision 2031 conference organised by the State Planning Board, Aiyar stated that the LDF would return to power and that Pinarayi Vijayan would become Chief Minister again. During the Vision 2031 program, Aiyar congratulated the state government on its development projects. He stated that the Communist Party of India (Marxist) had implemented Mahatma Gandhi’s vision of a new India. He also expressed hope that the new model of democratic decentralization developed in Kerala could be further strengthened and carried forward.

Following this, Congress leaders leveled allegations against the senior leader. Ramesh Chennithala mocked him, saying it was fortunate that he did not call Pinarayi Vijayan “Gandhi.”

However, Congress has remained silent on UDF leaders praising the BJP and Narendra Modi. UDF MPs N. K. Premachandran and Shashi Tharoor have constantly praised Modi, yet Congress has not commented on their statements. When questions are raised about MPs praising Modi, leaders including Opposition Leader V. D. Satheeshan and Ramesh Chennithala evade the issue by not responding.
