Kozhikode: A major fire broke out at Jayalakshmi Textiles in Kozhikode around 6 pm on Tuesday, prompting a swift response from Fire and Rescue Services.

The blaze reportedly originated on the second floor of the building and quickly spread to the upper floors and other sections of the structure. Firefighters are continuing intensive efforts to bring the flames under control, amid concerns that the extent of the fire could increase.

According to reports, all employees were evacuated immediately after the fire was detected, and officials confirmed that no staff members or others are currently inside the building. Additional fire force units have reached the spot to assist in fire containment operations.

Notably, a fire had broken out at the same establishment three years ago. The cause of the latest incident and the extent of damage are yet to be ascertained.
