UDF Govt Helping BJP Expand in Keralam, Says M A Baby

Thiruvananthapuram: CPI(M) general secretary M A Baby alleged that the UDF government in Keralam was creating an opportunity for the BJP to expand its political presence in the state by facilitating the use of central agencies.

Baby said the Enforcement Directorate's move against CPI(M) politburo member and former chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan was part of an attempt to target the CPI(M). He said the RSS could achieve political dominance in Keralam only by weakening the CPI(M).

The CPI(M) would confront the move both politically and legally, he added.

He claimed that the RSS had faced resistance in states where the Left had a strong political presence. In West Bengal and Tripura, the BJP came to power with the help of the Congress, he stated.

The BJP is aware that it would receive all possible assistance and cooperation from the Congress and the Muslim League to expand its political presence in Keralam, M A Baby said.
