M Swaraj Slams Congress, Says Party Has Become ‘Conduit’ for Leaders to Join BJP

M Swaraj
Thiruvananthapuram: Senior CPI(M) leader and state secretariat member M Swaraj has launched a sharp attack on Congress, alleging that it has effectively become a “road” for leaders to join BJP.
Addressing a press conference, Swaraj claimed that whether Congress wins or loses elections, its leaders often end up joining the BJP. “Congress is no longer just a political party; it has become a route to the BJP,” he said.
Citing political developments in states such as Goa, Arunachal Pradesh, Karnataka, and Uttarakhand, Swaraj alleged that several Congress legislators who were elected under the party symbol later switched allegiance to the BJP, helping it come to power.
He pointed to instances in Arunachal Pradesh, where a large number of Congress MLAs joined the BJP, effectively wiping out the party in the state. Similar political shifts, he said, were witnessed in Goa, Karnataka, and Uttarakhand.
Swaraj further claimed that not only defeated leaders but even elected representatives—and in some cases, former Chief Ministers—have moved from Congress to the BJP over the years. He further stated that people who are worried that Congress will join BJP fif they loses this election, you should realise that they will go to BJP even if tehy win.
