Delegates from 125 countries: Fifth Loka Kerala Sabha to begin today

Thiruvananthapuram: Proceedings of the fifth Loka Kerala Sabha are set to begin in Thiruvananthapuram on Friday morning, with Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan scheduled to inaugurate the session at 10 am. The event will be held at the R Sankaranarayanan Thampi Hall in the State Legislative Assembly complex.

During the inaugural function, the Chief Minister will launch several initiatives, including a Student Migration Portal for expatriate students, an Airport Help Desk, the Sherpa Portal, and Loka Keralam online services.

More than 500 Malayali representatives from 125 countries and 28 Indian states are participating in the conference. Deliberations centred on eight key themes, along with regional meetings, will be held over two days. The meet is expected to take key decisions aimed at leveraging the investment and expertise of the diaspora for the development of New Kerala.

The general session of the fifth edition of the Loka Kerala Sabha, which brings together Non -Resident Malayalis, was inaugurated on Thursday by Chief Minister Vijayan. Speaker A N Shamseer presided. Ministers V Sivankutty, A K Saseendran, K Rajan, Roshy Augustine, G R Anil and K Krishnankutty attended, along with prominent expatriate business figures M A Yusuff Ali and Dr Ravi Pillai, and Norka Roots Resident Vice Chairman P Sreeramakrishnan.
