K T Jaleel Criticises Muslim League Over PMAY and PM SHRI Position

Thiruvananthapuram: Dr K T Jaleel has launched a sharp attack on the Muslim League's stand on the central government's PM Awas Yojana (PMAY) housing scheme and PM SHRI, saying remarks made by League ministers K M Shaji and Shamsuddin had deeply hurt self-respecting and secular-minded people. He made the comments in a Facebook post.
He said that if the League's pattern is to grant a "halal certificate" to low-strength liquor, to hanging Modi's photo outside homes, and to PM SHRI, the Opposition would mobilise the public on the streets to tear up such "certificates." He acknowledged it would be excessive to demand that League leaders uphold the "faith" of Qaide Millath, but asked whether League leaders — who believe they hold sole inheritance rights over the community — could at least live up to V M Sudheeran's basic conviction.
He said that if it is fear of the ED driving the League's stand, it would be better for them to simply paste Modi's photo over the Chandrika newspaper's board and in front of the homes of League leaders facing money-laundering probes, rather than humiliate the poor.
