Kannur: Health Minister Veena George Injured in KSU Gang Attack to Continue in ICU at Kannur Government Medical College Hospital. According to the medical report, it was decided to continue treatment in the ICU as she requires continuous monitoring. Due to her current health condition, the minister will not be able to travel.


The medical board assessed that there has been slight relief from her severe pain. Her high blood pressure is controlled with medication, and her pain is being managed according to the pain protocol under the supervision of pain specialist Dr. M. Bindu.


The incident occurred when the minister arrived at Kannur Railway Station. She was returning after inaugurating the International Ayurveda Research Centre in Kalliad. KSU activists rushed toward the minister at the railway station, and the situation escalated into a physical assault.


The Youth Congress–KSU attackers jumped from inside the railway station while entering through the main entrance of Platform One. The Kannur Town Police arrested KSU district president M.C. Atul, treasurer V.V. Akshay, Bitul Balan, C.H. Mubas, and Ahmed Yasin, who attacked the minister.
