KSRTC Promotions for Eligible Staff Within Two Days: Minister Ganesh Kumar

Malappuram: Kerala Transport Minister K B Ganesh Kumar said that all eligible KSRTC employees will be granted promotions and that orders will be issued within two days. Speaking to reporters in Malappuram, the minister said many employees across different categories are set to retire this year, and promotions are being planned by taking these vacancies into account. Most of the existing staff have long years of service, and granting promotions to them will help improve the efficiency of KSRTC’s operations.
He said the scrap centre to be set up by KSRTC at Edappal would be highly beneficial. The facility will scrap old vehicles, including private vehicles, using modern, environmentally friendly technology. The project is expected to reduce pollution and also bring financial benefits, with around 150 crore likely to be received by the state under the Central government’s vehicle scrappage scheme.
The minister also said the Nava Kerala Survey should not be viewed purely through a political lens. It was a programme meant to understand from the public how the government had functioned and what more needs to be done. He added that the survey also aimed to gather opinions reflecting the future perspective of the younger generation.
He said he is happy to work along with the LDF, describing Kerala Congress (B) as a secular party that stands with workers and the poor. He added that the party has been able to move forward by aligning with Left policies and that all initiatives have the support of the Chief Minister. He also said he is pleased to be part of a good government.
Regarding the incident in which Sabarimala pilgrims were reportedly dropped in a forest area at night, the minister said initial action had been taken against the KSRTC driver and conductor involved. Further action would be initiated against those actually responsible after the completion of the inquiry, he added.
