Thiruvananthapuram: Weeks of internal disputes and unresolved disagreements within the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) have prompted the All India Congress Committee (AICC) to announce a reorganisation of the state unit. The restructuring introduces new vice presidents, a treasurer, and a large number of general secretaries, all with immediate effect.
The move also includes an expansion of the KPCC’s Political Affairs Committee, with Rajmohan Unnithan, V K Sreekantan, Dean Kuriakose, Pandalam Sudhakaran, A K Mani, and C P Mohammed added to the committee. M Liju has been moved from the post of General Secretary to vice president, while Palod Ravi, who had resigned as Thiruvananthapuram DCC president, has also been appointed as a KPCC vice president. V A Narayanan has been appointed treasurer of the KPCC.
A list of 58 general secretaries and 13 vice presidents has been released, but the names of the KPCC secretaries have not yet been announced due to ongoing internal disagreements.
The announcement reflects the party’s effort to stabilise the leadership and organisational structure in Kerala ahead of upcoming electoral challenges.
