The Kozhikode Medical College Police visited the residence of the deceased, Deepak, and recorded statements from his parents, brother, and a friend. Deepak (42), a native of Govindapuram, Kolangarakandi, Ullattuthodi, was found hanging in his bedroom. The woman had accused him of touching her inappropriately during a bus journey and later posted a video related to the allegation on social media. As the video went viral and became widely discussed, Deepak allegedly took his own life.
According to the family, Deepak went into his room on Saturday night, and when he did not open the door on Sunday morning, relatives checked and found him dead. Deepak was an employee at a clothing store. The incident that led to the allegation reportedly occurred last Friday while he was traveling by bus after arriving at Payyannur railway station.
