Man Held After Wife Complains He Sold Private Videos to Pornographic Websites

Kollam: A man has been arrested in Kollam for secretly recording private videos of his wife and selling them on pornographic websites. The Kottiyam police arrested the husband, who had been absconding, following a complaint filed by the woman.

According to the complaint, the man secretly recorded intimate moments, including videos from their bedroom, while the couple was living abroad and later sold the footage through pornographic websites. The woman also alleged that he engaged in sexual acts in front of their four-year-old daughter. When she objected to his behaviour, he allegedly subjected her to severe physical assault.

The police initially refused to register a case based on the complaint. After the matter became public, the DGP and the Pathanamthitta district police chief ordered an inquiry into the complaint.

The couple, who had been living in the UK for several years, returned to Keralam on the 14th. The woman said her husband had shared the private videos with pornographic websites in the UK. She said she returned to Keralam with the intention of getting her husband counselling.

The man took part in counselling sessions for two days. On the third day, when she insisted that he attend another session, he allegedly assaulted her severely before going into hiding. The woman, who suffered serious injuries, sought treatment at a private hospital in Kottiyam. Police recorded her statement and she handed over evidence, including phone conversations.

The woman said that when she confronted her husband after learning that the videos had been circulated, he mocked her, allegedly saying that it would not affect them because the incidents had taken place in the UK.

She also told police that her husband had close links with groups involved in partner-swapping and was a member of some such groups. According to her statement, members of these groups had asked him to share nude videos of his wife.

The woman said her husband showed no remorse over sharing the videos and earned money from them. She also alleged that he engaged in sexually inappropriate behaviour in front of their children.

Friends of the woman reportedly alerted her after coming across the videos on the websites.
