Nearly 4 Lakh People Untraceable in Kerala’s SIR Drive

Thiruvananthapuram: The number of people who could not be traced during the special intensive revision drive in Kerala has reached close to four lakh. As of Wednesday evening, 3,80,120 individuals could not be located, according to State Chief Elevtoral Officer Rathan U Kelkar. BLOs have categorized these individuals as deceased, permanently relocated, untraceable, already enrolled elsewhere, or other categories.
Once the full data is received by December 4, these names will be removed from the voters' list. It still remains unclear whether there are still eligible voters included among those marked for removal. Although directions were issued to verify this through BLO-BLA meetings, this has not been implemented in many areas.
