Thiruvananthapuram: Keralam General Education Minister V Sivankutty has mocked the claims made by leaders of the Congress party over the Chief Ministerial post even before the announcement of the Assembly election results. He said that Congress leaders had gone as far as deciding ministerial portfolios in the past.

“Now how many Chief Ministers are there—three or five? It will increase further. Last time, even ministerial departments were decided in advance. The only issue was with the car number plates. Not everyone likes the same number. They had to consult astrologers to decide the numbers. After arriving with numbers suggested by astrologers, the election results turned out differently. Until May 4, we will have to witness many such things,” Sivankutty said.

Meanwhile, internal dissatisfaction appears to be growing within the Congress over the competition among leaders for top posts. Several leaders have openly criticized the party leadership. K C Joseph, in a Facebook post, remarked that “those who spit while lying down will have it fall on their own face,” urging leaders to reflect on the consequences of internal disputes.
