Thiruvananthapuram: The State Government's online auto and taxi platform, 'Kerala Savari', has initiated its full-scale 2.0 version operations in Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi, introducing a commission-free, subscription-based model that guarantees a higher income for drivers and offers the public safe, affordable rides at government-approved fares.
The platform, which is a collaborative effort between the Transport, IT, and Police departments, aims to transition into a comprehensive multi-modal transport system by December 2025, integrating services like Metro, Water Metro, feeder buses, and railways into a single unified network.
The official launch marks the beginning of a phased rollout, with plans to rapidly expand the service to other districts and cities across Kerala. The core differentiator of the platform is its commission-free system, which eliminates the high service fees typically charged by commercial ride-hailing aggregators, thereby maximizing the earnings of drivers.
Technical support for the project has been provided by ITI Palakkad. The ultimate goal of Kerala Savari is to evolve beyond a simple hailing application and serve as a single digital window for all transport needs, making travel effortless, efficient, and ethical throughout the state.
