Heavy Rain, Strong Winds Likely in Several Districts in Keralam

Thiruvananthapuram: The weather department has forecast isolated moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds of up to 40 kmph in Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam and Thrissur districts.

Isolated light rain is also likely in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha and Palakkad districts.

A yellow alert has been issued for Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Idukki, Kannur and Kasaragod districts today due to the possibility of heavy rain and strong winds.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has advised fishermen not to venture into the Keralam, Karnataka and Lakshadweep coasts today and tomorrow. Strong winds reaching 35-45 kmph, occasionally gusting up to 55 kmph, and rough weather are likely along the coasts.
