Kerala, Qatar discuss new investment and cooperation plans

Doha, Qatar: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan met with Qatar’s Minister of International Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad, to discuss investment prospects and avenues for enhanced bilateral cooperation between Kerala and Qatar.

During the meeting, both leaders engaged in detailed discussions on strengthening Kerala–Qatar relations, exploring new investment opportunities, and expanding mutual collaboration across key sectors.


The talks also covered Kerala’s industrial potential, investor-friendly policies, and the growing business opportunities available for Kerala-based entrepreneurs in Qatar. J K Menon, Director of NORKA Roots and Chairman of ABN Corporation, briefed Minister Al Misnad on “industrial projects and entrepreneurial initiatives originating from Kerala.”


Minister Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad expressed particular interest in Kerala’s investment potential within the broader framework of Qatar–India cooperation. She noted that robust economic and cultural ties between the two sides would yield mutual benefits.

Chief Minister Vijayan commended Qatar’s contributions to global peace and humanitarian efforts. As a token of appreciation for Qatar’s support towards the Indian community and bilateral relations, he presented Minister Al Misnad with a special gift on behalf of the state of Kerala.


India’s Ambassador to Qatar, Vipul; Kerala’s Minister for Fisheries, Culture and Youth Affairs, Saji Cherian; Kerala Chief Secretary Dr. A. Jayathilak IAS; and NORKA Roots Director and ABN Corporation Chairman J.K. Menon were also present during the meeting.
