Police Restrict Journalists at CM's Events in Thrissur; Instruct Them Not to Ask Questions

Thrissur: Police removed journalists from a book launch event attended by the Chief Minister at the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Hall. A female journalist seated in the audience was instructed by the police to not ask questions to the Chief Minister. The action was led by the CI of the Thrissur AR Camp.

A photographer was also prevented from taking pictures of the book launch. Police instructed channel reporters not to ask questions as well. Journalists protested the incident.

A similar restriction had been imposed on journalists in Ernakulam, where police prevented them from asking questions to Chief Minister V D Satheesan. Journalists who had arrived to cover an event at Gokulam Park in Kaloor were stopped by police. They were instructed not to ask questions to the Chief Minister and to move away from the area. Assistant Commissioner Peter was involved in stopping the journalists.

The police instructed journalists not to attempt to seek a response from the Chief Minister and to move to the designated area. The action came a day after V D Satheesan had reportedly lashed out at journalists in Idukki.
