Kerala Pattayamela begins; 10,002 families get land deeds

Thrissur: The state’s flagship land distribution drive began today with Revenue Minister K Rajan inaugurating the Pattayamela, held as part of the government’s mission, “Land for all, title for every land, and all services made smart.” Across Kerala, 10,002 new title deeds were distributed on the opening day.

According to the minister, a total of 2,33,947 families have now become rightful landholders through the ongoing mission, which he described as one of the fastest and most transparent land programmes in the state’s history. The initiative marks a major milestone for the Revenue Department, setting a new benchmark in digital governance.

Minister Rajan said the government aims to make Kerala a dispute -free state in all land matters by 2031, coinciding with the 75th anniversary of the state’s formation. As part of the modernisation efforts, digital re-surveys have been completed in 532 villages so far. Once the re-survey is completed in a panchayath, land transactions can no longer rely solely on physical documents; they must be verified through integrated digital systems.

The new “Ente Bhoomi” portal, linking the Revenue, Registration, and Survey departments, will ensure that all land- related services are processed under a single digital platform, reducing fraud and streamlining ownership verification.

A Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for land- related services will be published next week, and each re-surveyed village will have an RTK rover machine and a dedicated surveyor appointed to assist in digital mapping.

Kerala, the minister added, is steadily moving toward a conclusive title system, where every piece of land will have a clear, tamper -proof digital record.

In Thrissur district alone, 1,349 new title deeds were distributed today. At the main event held at the Town Hall, Minister Rajan personally handed over 225 pattayams to beneficiaries and also inaugurated the new Erumeli South village office online.
