No Exam Stress: Kerala To Launch WE-HELP Helpline For SSLC, Higher Secondary Students

Thiruvananthapuram: To help reduce the stress faced by students preparing for SSLC and Higher Secondary public examinations, the Kerala General Education Department is launching a telephone helpline named WE-HELP, General Education Minister V Sivankutty said.

The helpline will begin functioning from February 16, 2026, and will be available on all working days until the examinations conclude. Students and parents can use the toll-free service by calling 1800 425 2844.

Counselling support will be provided over the phone from 7 am to 7 pm for both students and parents. In addition, counselling facilities have been arranged in all higher secondary schools across the state.

The WE-HELP helpline is being organised under the leadership of the Higher Secondary Career Guidance and Adolescent Counselling Cell.

The minister also said the government is considering bringing in legislation to regulate students’ use of social media. A five-member committee headed by Vasuki IAS will be appointed to study the issue, he added.
