Kochi: The Kerala High Court has disqualified Vellappally Natesan from continuing as the General Secretary of SNDP Yogam, citing violations under the Companies Act of India. The order was issued by a single bench of Justice T. R. Ravi.

The court found that the governing committee of the organisation had failed to submit annual financial statements and statutory returns for three consecutive years starting from 2013. The bench observed that such lapses constitute a serious violation of company law.

While delivering the verdict, the court also took into account a report submitted by the registration authorities, which highlighted the irregularities in statutory filings. Based on these findings, the court ruled that Vellappally and others associated with the management had incurred legal disqualification.

Earlier, the court had also noted that the Director Identification Number (DIN) accounts of Vellappally Natesan and Thushar Vellappally lacked validity. Under Section 164(2) of the Companies Act, company directors who fail to comply with mandatory filing requirements can be disqualified from holding office.

With the ruling, Vellappally Natesan and others concerned are now legally barred from continuing in their leadership positions within the organisation. The case had been pending before the High Court since 2024.
