Kerala HC Grants Bail to Six More CPI(M) Workers in ED Protest Case

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala High Court has granted bail to six more CPI(M) workers in connection with the case registered following protests against Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials in Thiruvananthapuram. With the latest order, a total of 24 accused have now secured bail in the case. The court rejected the arguments advanced by the ED and the police.

The accused granted bail are I.P. Binu, Revanth, Dineed, Dinakar, Unnikrishnan and D.S. Unni, all of whom are named in the case registered by the Museum Police Station.

Justice C. Kauser Edappagath observed that the allegation of attempt to murder could not be sustained. Bail was granted subject to specified conditions.

The protests erupted after the Enforcement Directorate conducted a raid at the residence of Opposition Leader Pinarayi Vijayan, which CPI(M) described as a politically motivated action.

A total of 26 people have been named as accused in the case.
