Kerala Voter List Updated for Local Body Elections, Adds Over 1.18 Lakh Voters

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala's final voter list for local body elections has added 1,18,293 new voters, bringing the total to 2,84,30,761, the State Election Commission announced. Of these, 1,33,52,996 are men, 1,49,59,273 are women, and 271 are transgender voters.
The list has been updated based on polling stations in newly reorganized wards. The draft list, published on September 29, had recorded 2,83,12,468 voters. Residents were given time to submit additions and corrections until October 14. The final list includes all residents who turned 18 on or before January 1, 2025. The NRI voter list contains 2,841 entries.
Among the districts, Malappuram has the highest number of voters at 35,74,802, while Wayanad has the lowest at 6,40,183. Other districts’ voter counts are: Thiruvananthapuram – 29,04,092; Kollam – 22,54,848; Pathanamthitta – 10,54,752; Alappuzha – 17,89,549; Kottayam – 16,29,096; Idukki – 9,07,102; Ernakulam – 26,47,066; Thrissur – 27,36,862; Palakkad – 24,11,914; Kozhikode – 26,63,817; Kannur – 21,14,668; Kasaragod – 11,02,010.
The final list covers 941 panchayats with 17,337 wards, 87 municipalities with 3,240 wards, and six corporations with 421 wards across 14 districts. In Kannur, the voter list has been prepared for all local bodies except Mattannur municipality, where the last election was held on August 20, 2022, and the oath-taking ceremony on September 11, 2022. The tenure of Mattannur’s governing committee ends on September 10, 2027.
The final voter list is available for inspection on the State Election Commission website (www.sec.kerala.gov.in), at local bodies, and at taluk and village offices.
