Kerala Cabinet Approves Land Acquisition for K-Space Aerospace Control Centre Near VSSC

Thiruvananthapuram: The State Cabinet has granted approval for land acquisition to establish an Aerospace Control System Centre under K-Space. As part of the project, 60 acres of land adjoining the VSSC campus at Veli/Thumba will be acquired. An amount of 600 crore rupees from KIIFB’s Land Acquisition Pool has been sanctioned for the purpose.
K-Space has been designated as the Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) for implementing the project. The Chief Executive Officer of K-Space will be appointed as the requisitioning authority for land acquisition, and formal orders in this regard will be issued shortly.
Other Cabinet decisions:
Ayya Vaikunda Swami Memorial Library and Cultural Centre
8 cents of land in Vanchiyoor Village, Thiruvananthapuram, will be handed over to the Department of Culture for constructing the Ayya Vaikunda Swami Memorial Library and Cultural Centre.
The construction will be executed as a KIIFB project.
Handicrafts Development Corporation Limited has been appointed as the SPV, and KIIFCON as the Project Management Consultant.
Creation of Posts
To commence the first phase of operations at the Government Ayurveda College, Udumbanchola (Idukki), 25 posts will be created — 21 regular posts and 4 contract posts.
In the Drugs Control Department, 10 Drug Inspector posts and 2 Regional/Senior Drug Inspector posts will be created.
Approval was granted to upgrade the HSS Junior Arabic post to HSS Teacher (Arabic) at SABTM Higher Secondary School, Thayinari, Kannur.
Approval was also granted to upgrade the HSS Junior English post to HSS Teacher (English) at St. Sebastian’s Higher Secondary School, Ayarkunnam, Kottayam.
Permissions Granted
The Malappuram District Collector has been authorised to distribute 50-cent plots prepared in vested forest land during the second phase of land distribution for landless Scheduled Tribe families in Kannankand Beat (Chaliyar Grama Panchayat) and Nellippoyil Kodiri Beat (Chungathara Panchayat), subject to the conditions in the government order.
Land Ceiling Exemption
An exemption under the Kerala Land Reforms Act has been granted for 19.7739 acres of excess land out of a total 34.7739 acres in Aikaranad North Village, Kunnathunadu Taluk, Ernakulam district.
Approval for Empanelment
Approval was given to a scheme for empanelling agencies to provide human resources to government departments for implementing e-governance initiatives.
The IT Mission has been entrusted with proceeding with the Request for Proposal (RFP) process for empanelment.
Salary Revision
The Cabinet decided to implement salary revision for 12 contract posts under the Kerala State IT Mission, along with the re-designation of one post.
The 11th Pay Revision will be implemented for permanent employees of the Vasthuvidya Gurukulam.
