Opposition Moves Adjournment Motion Against CM's Task Force; Questions Former UP Official’s Credentials

Thiruvananthapuram: The opposition moved an adjournment motion in the Keralam Assembly against the task force formed by the government in association with large corporations, alleging that it did not include even a single public health expert.
K Premkumar MLA questioned what Keralam had to learn from Uttar Pradesh in the health sector and asked what qualifications Deepak Singhal, a former Uttar Pradesh chief secretary who is a member of the task force, possessed for the role.
Premkumar demanded that the government clarify who had proposed the names for the task force. He asked whether the committee had been recommended by the Health Department, the KPCC or the UDF.
The public and the Assembly must know whose backing enabled the experts to enter the committee and who had brokered the deal, Premkumar said.
