Kerala Approves 2.42 Crore Funding for Work-Near-Home Facility in Kalamassery

Kochi: The Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board (KIIFB) has approved financial assistance of 2.42 crore rupees for a new work near home facility in Kalamassery. Industries Minister P Rajeev announced the development on social media. The facility marks the first phase of a broader initiative, announced in the 2023-24 budget, to create 100,000 work seats across the state. It will be set up in association with the Kalamassery ASAP office, with 172 work seats at the centre.

Designed to offer safe and convenient workspaces for professionals in the IT and ITES sectors, the facility is also expected to attract foreign companies and talent. It will cater to remote jobs, gig work, and other IT-related roles. The first phase of the project will be implemented across 10 local bodies, with Kerala IT Infrastructure Limited serving as the special purpose vehicle for the initiative.

The facility will feature plug and play offices, co-working spaces, meeting and conference rooms, training rooms, a coffee lounge/restaurant, seamless wired and Wi-Fi internet connectivity, uninterrupted power supply, air conditioning, video and audio conferencing facilities, wireless printers and scanners, a front desk, and round-the-clock surveillance and security.
