Court Dismisses Defamation Case Filed by K Sudhakaran Against CPI(M) State Secretary M V Govindan

Kochi: A defamation case filed by Congress leader K Sudhakaran against CPI(M) State Secretary M V Govindan has been dismissed by the court.
The case was rejected by the Special Court in Kochi that handles matters involving elected representatives after Sudhakaran repeatedly failed to appear in person and present evidence in support of his complaint.
The defamation case was filed over remarks made by M V Govindan regarding Sudhakaran’s association with Monson Mavunkal, an accused in the antiques fraud case.
The court had granted Sudhakaran multiple opportunities to submit evidence and proceed with the complaint. However, he did not appear with supporting evidence on any of those occasions.
Following continued non-appearance and failure to present evidence, the court dismissed the case.
