'Will Analyse the Result': Jose K Mani

Kottayam: Kerala Congress (M) Chairman Jose K Mani has accepted the electoral setback, saying wins and losses are part of democracy and that the party would seriously examine the reasons behind its poor performance. He said the people's mandate would be respected.

Jose K Mani acknowledged that there was a UDF trend across the state, reflecting the public's desire to bring the opposition to power after ten years. However, his own party lost all 12 seats it contested, a result he said would be seriously discussed and analysed within the party — and also within the LDF alliance.

"The people wanted the UDF to come to power after ten years, and that sentiment is reflected in the results. Our party fought well but could not convert the effort into victories. We will hold serious discussions within the party about why this happened," he said.
