Jinto John Critisises Mani Shankar Aiyar Over Pro-LDF Remarks at Vision 2031 Event Praising Pinarayi Vijayan

Thiruvananthapuram: KPCC spokesperson Jinto John has insulted senior Congress leader and former Union Minister Mani Shankar Aiyar. While participating in the Vision 2031 conference organised by the State Planning Board, Aiyar stated that the LDF would return to power and that Pinarayi Vijayan would become Chief Minister again. Following this incident, Jinto John criticised and insulted the senior Congress leader.

He shared a Facebook post asking, “Is there a need to continue bearing this burden?” The post contained remarks critical of Aiyar. Jinto John wrote that Aiyar should at least know when to remain silent and that he was at fault. He also remarked that Aiyar should buy medicine for his disorientation about time and place.

Despite the remarks against the former Union Minister, the state Congress leadership has not yet responded.

During the Vision 2031 programme, Aiyar congratulated the development projects implemented by the state government. He stated that the Communist Marxist Party had implemented Mahatma Gandhi’s vision of a new India. He also expressed hope that the new model of democratic decentralisation developed in Kerala could be further strengthened and carried forward.

Aiyar congratulated Thomas Isaac by name and criticised the Congress party for boycotting the Vision 2031 conference. He further stated that he hoped Pinarayi Vijayan would be able to move forward in the state, even where his party had faced defeat.
