IMD Issues Yellow Alert for Several Kerala Districts as Heavy Rain Likely

Thiruvananthapuram: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast isolated heavy rainfall in Kerala over the coming days and issued yellow alerts for multiple districts. A yellow alert has been declared for Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, and Ernakulam districts for tomorrow.


On November 22 (Saturday), a yellow alert will be in effect for Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, and Idukki. On November 23 (Sunday), the alert will cover Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, and Ernakulam districts. The IMD said the state is likely to receive isolated heavy rainfall, defined as 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm of rain within a 24-hour period.
