Kozhikode: Flight services to Saudi Arabia and other Gulf countries have become uncertain amid escalating tensions in West Asia. Services from the Gulf region to several Asian countries have also been affected.
Flights from Cochin International Airport to Saudi Arabia, Doha and Ras Al Khaimah have been cancelled for October 11 to 13. A total of 10 flights have been cancelled at Kochi alone, including five Akasa Air services.
Three flights scheduled to depart from Karipur in Kozhikode on Sunday are also among those cancelled. Services operated by Saudi Arabian Airlines, flynas and Air India Express have been disrupted.
Authorities have advised passengers to contact their respective airlines and confirm flight timings and the latest status before leaving for the airport.
The new move comes amid a new wave of attack against Saudi's airports by Houthis. In a second attack against Saudi airports in a week, 12 people were killed and around 300 injured in an aerial attack on King Khalid International Airport in the capital, Riyadh, late on Saturday night.
