Government Sanctions Additional 74.34 Crore for KSRTC Pension Distribution

Thiruvananthapuram: Finance Minister K.N. Balagopal has announced that the government has sanctioned an additional 74.34 crore for the distribution of pensions to Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) employees.


With this latest allocation, the total financial assistance extended to KSRTC this year has reached 933.34 crore. This includes 350 crore granted as special assistance and 583.44 crore specifically earmarked for pension distribution.


The total budget allocation for KSRTC in the current financial year stands at 900 crore. In the previous fiscal year, apart from the same budgeted amount of 900 crore, the corporation also received an additional 676 crore as government assistance.


Since the beginning of the current LDF government’s term, KSRTC has received a total of 7,904 crore in financial aid from the state. During the first Pinarayi Vijayan government, the corporation was granted 5,002 crore. ogether, both LDF governments have provided KSRTC with 12,906 crore in total assistance.


In contrast, the previous UDF government had allocated only 1,467 crore to KSRTC over its five-year term.
