From Load Shedding to Progress: The Transformation of Kerala Under Two Governments

Thiruvananthapuram: The advertisement released by PRD of Kerala Goverment, titled Irundakalam, has sparked a great deal of discussion across Kerala. The campaign appeared in both English and Malayalam newspapers. The ad compares the two governments: one during the tenure of the Oommen Chandy-led UDF government and the other under the leadership of Pinarayi Vijayan.
The first page highlights the period when the Oommen Chandy government was in power. During this time, the news included stories about frequent load shedding, government schools on the brink of shutdown, social security pensions being delayed for 18 months and the crisis of KSRTC, the suspension of National Highway Development activities and stalment in the GAIL project.
The second page contrasts this with the present scenario under the present LDF government. It features news about the absence of load shedding for over 10 years, the resurgence of public education, the completion of 111 new school buildings, Rs 2000 monthly pension provided to 66 lakh people, uninterrupted pension disbursements, extensive welfare measures, all KSRTC becoming profitable and so on.
Through this advertisement, people were able to clearly see the differences between the LDF and UDF governments and the measures each has taken for the welfare of the people.
