Former Kerala Minister Reghuchandrabal Dies

Thiruvananthapuram: Senior Congress leader and former Excise Minister M. R. Reghuchandrabal passed away at a private hospital here on Saturday following an illness, party sources said. He was 75.
Reghuchandrabal, who entered politics decades ago, served as the president of Kanjiramkulam panchayat from 1980. A two-time MLA, he represented the Kovalam and Parassala constituencies in the State Assembly in 1980 and 1991.
He served as the Excise Minister in the K. Karunakaran-led government from 1991 to 1995. Alongside his political career, Reghuchandrabal was also active in literature and theatre—writing poems, composing plays, and staging them, according to party sources.
He is survived by his wife and two children.
