Fire Breaks Out at Waste Management Factory in Kozhikode

Kozhikode: A major fire broke out at a waste management factory in the Thamarassery area of Kozhikode district early on Thursday, police said. The fire erupted around 3 am and completely destroyed the factory building, including its office section. A pickup van parked on the premises was also gutted in the blaze.


No injuries were reported, according to the police. Fire and Rescue Services teams from Mukkom and Vellimadukunnu rushed to the spot after receiving the alert and managed to bring the fire under control after several hours of firefighting.


The exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. An investigation is underway, officials said.
