Education Minister Condemns Congress Protest Outside Health Minister’s Residence as Anti-Democratic

Thiruvananthapuram: Education Minister V. Shivankutty stated that the protest conducted by Congress workers in front of Health Minister Veena George’s residence is highly condemnable and anti-democratic. This protest was carried out with the knowledge of Opposition Leader V. D. Satheesan and is purely political. By exaggerating some isolated incidents in the state, the opposition is attempting to create the impression that the health sector is in a state of collapse.
The health sector, which has even been acknowledged by the central government, is being misrepresented as deteriorating. V. D. Satheesan is taking a stance that favours private monopolies. Government actions are transparent, and the administration has responded responsibly to incidents of alleged medical malpractice. Health Minister Veena George has clarified that strict action will be taken against the culprits. The government has not attempted to protect anyone, yet the opposition is resorting to personal attacks on the minister while concealing these facts.
What took place in front of the minister’s house was not merely a protest, but a barbaric intrusion. No one should believe that such anti-democratic methods can weaken the Left Democratic Front. The people of Kerala will give an appropriate response to this aggressive politics of the UDF. The minister urged the opposition to refrain from such actions.
