Massive arms raid in Edavanna; 20 air guns, three rifles, and over 200 bullets seized from house

Malappuram: A major arms raid was conducted in Edavanna, Malappuram. Police recovered 20 air guns, three rifles, over 200 bullets, and 40 pellet boxes from a house. The raid was carried out at a residence in Edavanna, where police seized the huge cache of weapons. The house owner, Unnikammad, was arrested.

The search was based on confidential information received by the police. The man did not have a license to store such a large number of weapons. He was illegally storing and selling them. Further clarity is needed on where these weapons were sourced from.

In the initial stage of the search conducted on the upper floor of the house, one rifle, 40 cartridges, and a gun were found. Later, in the shuttered lower section of the house, the large cache of weapons was discovered. Police said the investigation will continue.
