Thiruvananthapuram: DYFI State President V Vaseef has called on the KPCC to come clean on the crores of rupees collected in the name of building homes for survivors of the Mundakkai–Chooralmala landslide disaster in Wayanad.

Speaking to the media, Vasif pointed out that over one and a half years have passed since the funds were raised, yet there has been no disclosure whatsoever regarding the total amount collected or how it has been utilized. Vowing to hold Congress accountable, he announced that DYFI will launch a sustained agitation under the rallying call "veedevide Congresse? (Where is the House, Congress?)" against what he termed the party's blatant deception of the public.

Vaseef also demanded an explanation from Opposition Leader V D Satheesan as to why details of the joint bank account created for the Wayanad relief fund were not declared in the asset disclosure section of his election nomination papers. He described the concealment of information related to an account handling crores of rupees as deeply suspicious. "Those who never tire of preaching transparency are being brazenly opaque in their own affairs — and that is nothing short of a challenge to the people of Kerala," Vaseef charged.

He further noted that despite Congress announcing house construction under its Punarjani scheme and conducting a foundation-laying ceremony with much fanfare, not a single brick has been laid at the site even a month later. "The UDF's approach is to fool the people with grand foundation-laying spectacles," he said, adding that those who failed to honour their old promises have now returned to the public with a fresh set of assurances.

Vaseef contrasted this with DYFI's own track record, stating that the organization has published a full and transparent account of every rupee collected for Wayanad rehabilitation. "DYFI has ensured complete transparency regarding the funds raised. What Congress practices is embezzling funds— DYFI has always been, and will remain, accountable," he asserted.

DYFI has resolved to begin a protest campaign by erecting makeshift huts at the Congress-acquired site in Wayanad as well as in all districts across the state, under the banner "veedevide Congresse? (Where is the House, Congress?)" Vaseef made clear that DYFI's protests against Congress's betrayal of the landslide survivors will continue until answers are forthcoming.
